Meeker Town Board accepts resignation

The Board of Trustees for Meeker voted to accept the resignation of a police officer and against allowing alcohol at an upcoming festival at its special meeting on Sept. 22.

Oklahoma Hall of Fame announces Teen Board

A student from Chandler High School has been named to the Oklahoma Hall of Fame Teen Board for the 2026-27 year.Madelyn Bridge is one of 51 11th- and 12th-graders selected to this year’s board, according to a press release from the organization.

Lions’ D prevails

Chandler’s defense made stops when it needed to Friday night as the Lions rang up a 34-27 win over Dickson in their district opener.The win lifts the Lions’ season record to 3-1 and leaves them as one of four district teams with a 1-0 league record.

Dawgs dominate Depew

The top-ranked Davenport Bulldogs routed Depew, 52-6, Friday night to go 5-0 for the season and keep their string of dominating defense intact.The Dawgs have won their five games by a cumulative score of 230-14, scored three shutouts and won four of their five games via the 45-point mercy rule.

Stroud wins with dramatic finish

Stroud converted a 4thand-25 pass play from near mid-field in the last minute Friday night to set up a 32-28 win over Wilburton in the district opener.Senior Aiden Collins caught the pass and ran it inside the 10-yard line and then scored the winning touchdown on a jet sweep.

Fastpitch roundup

The fastpitch playoffs continued this week, with McLoud and North Rock Creek competing in Class 4A regionals, Chandler and Prague in Class 3A, Stroud in Class 2A and Davenport in Class A.Most tournaments were moved to start on Tuesday of this week to avoid rain forecasted for Thursday and Friday.
